šŸ“¢ Why Does Jolt Have Two Ringers? Here's Everything You Need to Know

Have you ever wondered why the Jolt app gives you the option to choose between System Ringer and Jolt Ringer? You're not alone. Many of our users have this question, and in this blog, we’ll walk you through the reasons, differences, device examples, and how to choose the best one for your needs.

🧩 Why Two Ringers?

Not all devices behave the same way when it comes to ringtones, especially with Jolt’s custom ringer engine. On some devices—especially brands like Vivo, Infinix, and similar models—users reported the following issues while using the Jolt Ringer:

  • Phone would vibrate but not ring
  • Sometimes rings even when the phone is on vibrate mode
  • Inconsistent behavior with ringtone ringing playback

Ā

This happened because some manufacturers heavily customize Android, and their systems don’t always allow third-party apps full control over ringtone behavior.

To solve this, we introduced a second ringer option: System Ringer.

šŸ” System Ringer vs. Jolt Ringer

Ā

System Ringer
This uses your phone’s native ringtone system, which ensures maximum compatibility across all Android phones, including newer models with Nothing’s Glyph Lights, customized vibration patterns, and special notification controls.
āœ… Best for users who want stable, reliable performance.
āœ… No surprise behavior—works exactly like your phone's default ringtone setting.

Ā

Jolt Ringer
This is our advanced custom engine built into the Jolt app. It gives you unique features that go beyond the default Android experience:
šŸŽµ Set different ringtones for groups or individual contacts
šŸ“¹ Add video sound or custom ringtones for visual flair
šŸ”Š Control audio playback directly within the app

But due to its customization, it may not behave perfectly on all phones.

Ā

āœ… Our Recommendation

If you’re using phones from brands like Vivo, Infinix, Tecno, or any device that shows inconsistent behavior, we strongly recommend using System Ringer for rock-solid performance.

However, if you love customizing everything and your device supports it well, feel free to explore the Jolt Ringer and enjoy its exclusive features.
